Democratic donkey - old city hall
I learned how the donkey became the symbol for the Democratic party. I don't remember any of the names, so you'll have to bear with me. A Democratic candidate was running for office and his rival decided to mock him by placing his opponent's poster with a donkey. But the Democratic candidate decided to brush it off and use the donkey as part of his campaign anyway. So the stupid donkey stuck with the Democratic Party ever since then. Lame!
