Decorating the office

I'm a total geek and am at work. It's 10PM Sunday night! I came in for a couple of reasons: 1. I have some work to do and 2. I wanted to set up my Christmas Tree. I don't have any room in my apartment for a tree so I opted to get one for the office. I'm very happy with it. It'll make my workplace feel more cozy for a month. It stands 5 feet tall, right next to me on a table. Dscn2050

Here it is with all its' adorned glory. Did I mention, I love red?!Dscn2052

I love it!

Christmas Decoration at Home - aka Crate & Barrel Shrine

Here's my everthing's from Crate & Barrel Christmas shrine. With the exception of the glass case and some glasses, some of them were from Z-Gallery. But almost everything you see here, including the bar table is from Crate & Barrel becaue I LOVE that store! If (I said *if*) I ever get married, that is where I'm registering.

Here's the close-up of my favorite decorative piece.

And some lovely jeweled christmas tree cones. Did I ever mention that red is my favorite color? I wear it a lot and most of my furnishing is in red.

I'm selling my Corolla and leasing a BMW Z4

I'm selling my 2001 Silver Corolla S model. It's got a black interior. In the new year, I am leasing a BMW Z4. It's a car I've always wanted to drive. So, while I'm still young and don't have any responsibilities(children), I will be driving it. Check out this beauty!

Beowulf in 3D - Amazing experience!

Images_2 I encourage everyone to see Beowulf but only if you're going to watch it in 3D. It was an amazing cinematic experience. The movie was made a 100% better because of the 3D effect. I can't believe some people saw this non-3D.

Happy Thanksgiving!

There are still nice people in the world lending a helping hand

Saturday was my cleaning day. I had so much laundry to do, it was quite overwhelming. On my way to the laundromat, I smashed my back tire into the curb which apparently damaged my tires irreparably. My tire went completely flat. I was trying to switch my tire out with my spare, but it turned out even my spare was flat.

There were these 2 very nice Mexican guys that helped me switch my tires out and even took me to Pep Boys to get a new tire (because I had no way of getting there). That was so nice of them that I had to at least buy them dinner.  My preconceptions about these two tough looking but nice  latino dudes went out the window. Especially after hearing that they owned 2 houses and that one of their father and mother was a doctor and a nurse.  The guy who took me to pep boys was only 23 and a mechanic and doing really well for himself. I'm very thankful that there are still very nice people in the world willing to help a stranger.

My Russian guys

My Russian developers and tester are standing me up again. I conference call them every night at 10PM to give them instructions for the day via Skype. They are late on me a lot. It's sometimes tough to manage people remotely. There better be a snowstorm or something holding them up. The CTO backed me up and said they had to come in on time and also do exactly as I instruct them.  They are nice guys, and I probably will end up going to Moscow at some point next year for business, but they're not always reliable.

The cutest little pitbull in the world

Our office is a regular dog house. Someone always brings a pet. There has been a new addition to the family of dogs here at the office. It's Shelby, the pit bull puppy. Look at how adorable she is. I just want to bite her.

Here are more pictures of this angel. I want to steal her away from my co-worker.

There are some other people's dogs, but Shelby the pitbull is too cute in comparison. This is Gunta, a Jack Russell Terrier.  He doesn't fancy me too much.

And here's another dog Jackie who looks like Dorothy's dog.

3-part sermon on prayer

I went back to Bel Air Presbyterian church after a hiatus of about a month. Hence lately, I felt I lost focus and felt very distant from God. And at times, I didn't even feel like a child of God. I worked the past 4 weeks on Sunday instead of going to church. That, and I was just plain lazy. But I'm very happy that I went back. The sermon was on prayer. I can't wait for the next two installments. On that note, I will be praying to God tonight as not much of that has been going on the past month. I always feel more at peace when I do talk to God. If any of you have prayer request this week, let me know and I'll pray for you. I don't just say that without actually doing it. I swear.

My friend Rasika

I went out with my very good gal pal Rasika this Saturday (she's half German and half East Indian). We went to dinner at Kate Mantilini in Woodland Hills (that's where she lives). I had an absolutely divine steak. We then went to Viceroy in Santa Monica where we saw 3 Ferrarri's and Lambourgini's parked out front. But it was so damn crowded that we ended up leaving. She is one friend where I experience guys willing to go out of there way to do things for her. The valet charge was $16 dollars and we complained because we only stayed for 5 minutes. We didn't have to pay $16 dollars even though the lady in front of us had to; all because she's so beautiful and charming. I've seen other guys do nice things for her just because she's beautiful; like not having to wait in lines at bars or clubs, or other trivial things. It's a different world being around her because she gets so much attention. She gets invited to Playboy mansion parties, billionaire's parties, millionaires and politicians hit on her--she basically travels in different circles that I'm not really aware of (basically Hollywood and the rich and famous). Anyway, all eyes are on her when we are out. It's a very interesting social experiment being around her. Also a testament to how stupid guys are and how beautiful girls can get away with just about anything.

Anyway, more interestingly, she's about to become very famous for her art; not to mention rich. She does mainly figure drawings and risque art; and Playboy has asked her to do some paintings for their magazine. Actually, they asked her if she would pose for Playboy, but she turned it down because she's a nice girl. She says she doesn't want that on her resume following her for the rest of her life. I want to post her amazing art work here, but I don't think I'm allowed to because it's getting featured in Playboy, and there are exclusivity issues etc. Once she's feaured, she'll be handed roles in Hollywood and other marvellous things will open up for her.
